STORY OF FOOD STARTUP "SWIGGY"

Introduction
Swiggy is genuinely considered as an “Emerging Domicile of an Urban Metropolitan Hunger Satisfactory” with its very own Online mobile application for Food Ordering and Delivery platform which indeed holds an astonishing record of the ten millions of active users and billions of turnover.

SWIGGY HISTORY 
The initiative was started in 2014 by two successful entrepreneurs of BITS alumni SriHarsha Majesty and his junior Nandan Reddy. SriHarsha Majesty, founder and CEO of Swiggy in one of his interviews said, “Entrepreneurship was always in my blood". His father runs a restaurant in Vijayawada and invested in the hospitality sector and his mother is a doctor by profession and has her own clinic. She also started her own chain of beauty parlors. Seeing his family members being in charge, and taking control of what they do was an inspiration from Sri Harsha's early years.
Two successful entrepreneurs realized to create a tremendous Digitized change in Online hyper-local logistics in the restaurant industry. They were highly motivated to start the business with an inevitable and not perishing resource so as to make the outcome welcoming by the people and with a vision to revolutionize the restaurant industry in India.
The incentive of their idea is to bridge a coordinate relationship with restaurant and common people(audience) by the prospect of giving entire sustenance requesting and conveyance arrangement from the best nearby hotels to the customers by familiarizing the general public with the comfort of home-delivered food. The idea is formulated and given to Rahul Janimini an IIT alumnus, who was one among the skilled developer in their friend circle who designed and coded an app.
Swiggy started off with just One neighborhood, six delivery executives and 25 partner restaurants in an office space in Koramangala, Bangalore. Once it was set up and used by neighborhoods with the recommendations from customers an additional goal as timely delivery of food items from various hotels, cafes, restaurants, chat stalls to the people who order to taste the flavors of dish delivered at the doorstep using delivery executives to foster its service was added.
The Swiggy app has effectively saved the cost of huge investment on the Restaurant's material costs such as Land, Table, Chair and Electricity, Workers, Managers, Services, Complimentary Services, Car Parking and also saved the time of the common people/customers of restaurants, hotels.

At Present Day:
Almost five years into the field, Swiggy now has a major presence in Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai and Kolkata. Not just that, they are partnered with 12,500+ restaurants and over 14,000 delivery executives. Now they are in over 60 locations in India with more than 50,000 restaurant partners and are only looking to grow further.
Swiggy is ranked one in Forbes for the best food delivery apps in top cities in India. With over 10,000,000+ downloads in the play store.
To continually withstand in race of market Swiggy has come up with exciting features like Swiggy Pop, Swiggy Access and Swiggy Schedule to impress the audience. With constant developments in their technology, Swiggy has made sure it has secured the number one position in the country in relation to the online food ordering food.

Zomato, an Indian restaurant search and discovery service which was formed prior to Swiggy in Delhi by IIT Alumnus Deepinder Goyal and Pankaj Chaddah in 2008 now currently operates in 24 countries. The coolest fact is that IITians got collected all data of all food menus in restaurants and hosted it to the website such that foodies and common people go to the restaurant with the offer in the site and thus Zomato gets the commission amount if the people visits from their site. Later Swiggy succeeded to master the delivery of food with delivery executives on time. Both Swiggy and Zomato now are thriving very hard to retain the customers with the same concept of application based delivery of food using delivery executives with dazzling offers and discounts.
